Situated a few hundred yards from the lighthouse and the terminal port, the Hotel du Phare is the ideal base for visiting the landing beaches, Caen and its Memorial Museum, Bayeux’s cathedral and tapestry and even the Mont Saint Michel.
Established in 1872 by Charles Dubosq under the brand "l'Auberge des Nations", taken back by his daughter Jeanne, wife Morel, in 1899 under the brand "Café-Restaurant de la Gare". The succession is then taken by his son René Morel from 1922. The establishment is destroyed on June 6th, 1944 during the allied landing, then opened again temporarily on August 15th, 1945 while waiting for the reconstruction in 1957 which sees being born "L'hotel le Phare" (The rail link not existing any more), managed by Renée Morel, marry Seigle, until 1976, and since January 1st, 1977 by Martine Seigle, wife Raffé, back - defer girl of the founder Charles Dubosq.
